Echo Limousine Hidden Gems in Chicago
We monitor all flights in real time.
Big thanks to our friends at Redfin for including us in their Chicago hidden gems article. While we were excited to give the mouth-watering Paidakia at Plateia Mediterranean Kitchen a well-deserved spotlight, it’s hard for us to stop at just one hidden gem in our beloved Windy City. Below are two lesser-known attractions that every tourist and local should add to their to-do list.
Superdawg
A Chicago original unlike any other, Superdawg started welcoming drive-in customers in May of 1948 and has been serving juicy hotdogs to hungry patrons ever since. You won’t find any filler in these dogs. Superdawg has a strict no pork, no veal, no cereal, no filler, just pure beef policy. Superdawg vets would advise you to try the Superfries, served with all the trimmings — golden mustard, tangy piccalilli, kosher dill pickle, chopped Spanish onions, and a memorable hot pepper.
Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio
One of the most influential architects of the 20th century, Frank Lloyd Wright, purchased his home in 1889 at age 22 and completed extensive renovations while he and his family lived there. There are over 25 houses Wright designed or remodeled clustered in Oak Park, a Chicago suburb 20 minutes from the city. While the beauty of Wright’s homes is apparent to the naked eye, you may need some assistance finding these architectural wonders and navigating the sometimes difficult Chicago traffic.
The Private Frank Lloyd Wright Chicago Architectural Tour offered by Echo Limousine is your chance to focus on Wright’s work without worrying about getting from one location to the next.
