Three Stunning Wedding Venues in the Chicago Suburbs
We monitor all flights in real time.
Chicago is a wonderful place to wed, known for stunning venues throughout the city as well as for unique, memorable combinations of setting and service away from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet comfortably accessible by wedding limo service. The suburbs of Chicago and adjacent areas host venues that showcase local gems and celebrate special attractions, ideal for wedding ceremonies and receptions to remember—and even for the first-night honeymooners!
The Royal Melbourne, Long Grove
For those who seek a sylvan, manicured-landscape setting well outside Chicago, The Royal Melbourne in Lake County’s Long Grove is a prestigious choice. The venue offers a pro golf-course setting and all the amenities of a first-class country club for wedding parties of up to 220 guests. Nine ponds and prairie-wetland conservancies surround and dot an 18-hole, par-72 course, with a beautifully-appointed clubhouse and lovely, nature views. The Royal Melbourne’s 4,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom directly connects to the 1,200-square-foot Royal Room, for an easy, seamless transition from arrival in a stretch SUV to the ceremony.
The Grove Redfield Estate, Glenview
The same can be said of the historical mansion and grounds at Redfield Estate, located in the Grove in Glenview. For over 70 years, parties of up to 125 guests outdoors or up to 100 indoors have shared newlyweds’ special day in the sumptuous setting of a grand, prairie-style luxury residence with original vintage furnishings. Ceremonies and receptions can be held outdoors under a wooden gazebo or in the mansion’s stunning Great Room; the house and grounds are all open for wedding events. The estate is nestled among the 148 acres of long-established nature preserve and historical first-settlers’ homes that comprise The Grove. The Redfield is ideal for smaller, signature day or evening nuptials with an old-fashioned, curated flair. Only three miles northwest of the city, Glenview is a short but very scenic ride away in a stately stretch SUV or wedding limo.
Naper Settlement, Naperville
For something out-of-the-box, consider Naper Settlement. This unique wedding venue is a 12-acre, 19th-century historical village and outdoor museum reconstructed in downtown Naperville. The park-village complex offers a unique setting for weddings that blends a celebration of the town’s past with the newest trends in a combination of beautifully appointed venues, all steps from each other.
The village sits on the banks of the West branch of the DuPage River, and The Riverwalk takes full advantage of it. Alongside the DuPage River, Centennial Beach, and Quarry Lake, the picture-perfect complex also boasts a covered bridge, paddling pond, two sledding hills, an amphitheater, and lots of landscaped parkland. Nearby Moser Tower on Rotary Hill is home to Millennium Carillon—one of only two dozen or so Grand Carillons in the entire world—with 72 bells and panoramic views of the Settlement and the suburb. Services for up to 100 guests can be hosted here, or at Century Memorial Chapel, in the heart of the Settlement, for up to 175 guests. Built in 1864, the chapel still has original stained glass windows and hand-stenciled detailing. A special wedding package combines a Chapel wedding with a river view reception for up to 250 guests at the ballroom of Elements at Water Street restaurant in the Hotel Indigo Naperville Riverwalk, plus hotel block rates.
