Reliable Transportation Is Our Heritage
Echo Limousine founder, Mircea Stanescu, has had a long history — and family heritage — of providing reliable transportation solutions to the masses.
Flashback to the early 1930s and Mircea’s great-grandfather had a mission to help people move from point A to point B in the most efficient way possible. At the time, this meant horse-drawn carriages, a form of transportation that was incredibly in demand.
Mircea’s great-grandfather leveraged this rising need for quick transport, starting a carriage business that initially provided services for the nobility and middle class. But by the middle of the 19th century, this type of transportation was considered a necessity, and, due to government rules and regulations, the rates were kept low enough to be used by a wide range of people.
Many people owned carriages by then, but there was still enough business due to the maintenance costs associated with owning horses and carriages — things like food and water for the horses, carriage repairs, and oil lamps used for providing light for passengers.
Mircea’s great-grandfather successfully ran his business for many years until the late 19th century when, with the introduction of the automobile and electric tram, his carriage business fell to a less-used transportation option.
As dirt roads and carriages paved the way for asphalt highways and buses, so too has Mircea’s grandfather and his work influenced the 21st-century birth of Echo Limousine. While the vessel that navigates the roadways may look different, the goal of the business venture will always remain the same: providing locals with a professional and safe way to get around the area.
From Early Vision to Today’s Impact
In early 2008, Echo Limousine founder Mircea Stanescu met the company’s current vice president, Florin Lazar, after answering an ad for a roommate on Craigslist. At the time, the two Chicagoans were both working for different limo companies, with Florin earning a “Rookie of the Year” award within his first 365 days on the road.
But after just a few short months, the pair decided to start their own luxury limo service in Chicago — what would soon become Echo Limousine.
Despite being in the middle of the housing market crash, Mircea and Florin put their ideas to work and developed a six-month business plan. That was how long the duo would survive with the money they had if things didn’t go the way they expected.
Luckily, they did.
As the website development, marketing, and business management went underway, so too did gathering the initial customer base. Knocking on doors in affluent neighborhoods provided Mircea and Florin with their first customers, and although their driving days are over, some of them are still Echo Limousine clients today.
Humble beginnings meant only one car, but that quickly rose to three and a professional chauffeur within the first eight months. The pair’s attention to detail and customer-first approach helped fuel steady growth and customer retention. In the meantime, the economy started recovering as well, providing Echo Limousine with much-needed corporate clients and tourists from across the world.
As the results soared, our limo company decided to increase our efforts, invest more time in marketing, and leverage our own technological advantage. That meant shifting away from the main limo dispatching software in 2014 and developing our own reservation system, which allowed us to better customize every single aspect of our interaction with customers, taking complete control over the entire customer journey.
Eight years later, we are still adding new features to the system.
In time, we established ourselves as one of the most technologically advanced limo services in the Chicago area, attracting many corporate clients that are looking for a more efficient means of handling their transportation needs.
