Points of Interest in Glenview, IL

Glenview has several interesting sightseeing points of interest. The former Naval Air Station’s control tower (pictured above) is one. Naval Air Station Glenview or NAS Glenview was an operational U.S. Naval Air Station from 1923 to 1995. Reconfigured as a Naval Air Reserve base following WWII, NAS Glenview supported Naval Air Reserve and Marine Air Reserve/4th Marine Aircraft Wing units, as well as an active duty Coast Guard Air Station.

The Chicago, Illinois Temple, the thirty-fifth temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), is another beautiful sight. It is the second of three church temples that have been built in Illinois (The first and the third being the Nauvoo Temple and the Nauvoo Illinois Temple). It is a particularly spectacular structure.

Lastly, “The Park” is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the suburb of Glenview and features architecture typical of the suburb’s first houses.
