The Best Places to Eat and Drink at O’Hare Airport
As one of the busiest airports in the world, Chicago’s O’Hare sees thousands of hungry travelers every day. Luckily, the airport offers an array of diverse dining options to satisfy every appetite. Here are some of the best places to eat and drink at O’Hare International Airport.
Tortas Frontera
American chef and restaurateur Rick Bayless’s Tortas Frontera has three locations in O’Hare—Terminal 1, Gate B11; Terminal 3, Gate K4; and Terminal 5, M12—and offers modern interpretations of traditional Mexican fare. Tortas Frontera is known for its tortas, or griddle-baked sandwiches. They also serve molletes, soups, salad, and a variety of breakfast dishes—simply take a car or limo to O’Hare and let the Tortas Frontera feast begin.
Goose Island Beer Co. Bar
Travelers seeking a nice brew or two to go with a meal should make Goose Island Beer Co. Bar a priority. Goose Island has been a Chicago beer institution for decades, and here they offer many of their craft beer varieties on tap. The bar also serves breakfast sandwiches early in the day and salads, sandwiches, and flatbreads for lunch and dinner. There are two locations: Terminal 1, Gate C4 and Terminal 3, Gate L10A.
Publican Tavern
For a more traditional pub-like atmosphere, beer-loving fliers should head to Publican Tavern located in Terminal 3, Gate K1. With ten beers on tap and even more canned and bottled, Publican Tavern is a great place to relax with a brew. They also serve delicious bar food, including burgers, roasted meats, and pork rinds.
Berghoff Cafe
The Chicago Loop’s iconic German eatery has an outpost at O’Hare in Terminal 1, Gate C26. Breakfast is served daily, and their regular menu includes favorites such as sausages, corned beef Reuben sandwiches, soups, salads, and flatbreads. Berghoff Cafe is the perfect place for hearty, comforting German-style food before or after a flight.
