Grant Park Music Festival
It’s festival season in Chicago, and that means it’s time for America’s only free outdoor classical music festival! The long-running (85 years!) Grant Park Music Festival began during the Great Depression and soon led to the formation of the acclaimed Grant Park Orchestra and Grant Park Chorus. The 10-week series of concerts features performances by these award-winning groups, plus radio broadcasts, special guests, and community outreach programs. There’s nowhere else in the country where you can catch the sounds of Beethoven, Bach, and Mozart under the summer sky!

Chicago SummerDance
Chicago SummerDance, the nation’s largest outdoor dancing series, takes place over two months each summer. From June to August, professional instructors offer hour-long dance lessons to help people of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels learn to dance. From swing to samba to salsa, you’ll enjoy live music, lessons, and dancing on a 4,900-square-foot open-air dance floor.

Family Fun Festival
School’s out of session, but that doesn’t mean learning has to stop. Millennium Park’s Family Fun Festival provides hands-on arts, crafts, and activities with an educational focus. Sponsored by some of the top museums and cultural institutions in the Windy City, family-friendly activities occur every weekday for seven weeks. From singalongs to story time, each day is filled with activities that quell summer boredom.
